Who we are

BootcampGuide is a platform for comparing coding and professional courses offered by training institutes in India, based in New Delhi, India. For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, BootcampGuide decides how and why your personal data is used.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us through a form, plus the minimum needed to keep the site running safely:

• Course enquiries: when you unlock a course's batches and fees, your name, mobile number and email address, and the course and institute you asked about.
• Phone verification: your mobile number is sent to our SMS provider to deliver a one-time code, and we keep a record that the number was verified.
• Call-back requests: your name, mobile number, city (if you give it), what you would like to learn, and the search you made.
• Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
• Searches that find no course: the words you searched for and any location or format filter. These are not linked to your name, phone number or IP address.
• Technical data: your IP address, used to limit repeated requests and prevent abuse, and signals collected by Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated bots.
• On your own device: after you verify your phone, your name, mobile number and email are saved in your browser for 24 hours so you don't have to verify again. The site also saves course listings in your browser to load faster. You can clear both by clearing your browser's site data.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not sell your personal data.

How we use it

• To verify your phone number and pass your enquiry to the institute you chose.
• To call or message you back when you request it, about courses that match what you asked for.
• To reply to messages you send us.
• To understand which courses people look for and cannot find, so we can list them.
• To protect the site, our users and institutes from spam, fraud and abuse.
• To meet our legal obligations.

Who we share it with

• Institutes: when you unlock a course's details, we share your name, mobile number, email address and the course with the institute offering it, so they can contact you about it. For 24 hours after you verify your phone, the same happens for each other course whose details you unlock, with that course's institute. Once an institute receives your details, its own privacy policy also applies to how it uses them.
• Service providers who work on our behalf and may only use the data to provide their service to us: Supabase (database hosting), Vercel (website hosting), MSG91 (SMS verification codes) and Cloudflare (bot protection).
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

Call-back requests, contact messages and search records are not shared with institutes.

Your consent

We use your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, where the form tells you what will happen to your details, and for legitimate uses the law allows, such as preventing fraud.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing contact@bootcampguide.com. We will stop using your data for that purpose and delete it unless the law requires us to keep it. Withdrawing does not undo sharing that has already happened; to stop an institute contacting you, please also ask the institute directly.

How long we keep it

• Phone verification records: deleted two days after the code is sent.
• Course enquiries and call-back requests: kept while we need them to provide the service, including a record of which institutes received your enquiry, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Contact messages: kept until your query is resolved, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Searches that find no course: deleted after 180 days.
• IP-based abuse counters: cleared within three days.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
• correct, complete or update it;
• erase it, where we no longer need it or you withdraw consent;
• address a grievance about how we have handled it; and
• let someone you nominate exercise these rights if you are unable to.

Email contact@bootcampguide.com from the email address or with the mobile number you used, so we can confirm the request is yours. We will respond within the time the law requires.

Grievances

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, write to us at contact@bootcampguide.com with "Privacy grievance" in the subject. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

BootcampGuide is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to make enquiries on your behalf. If you believe a child has given us personal data without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Your data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to the systems that need it. Forms are protected against automated abuse. No system is completely secure, so if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use data you have already given us, we will ask for your consent again where required.
