Data Analyst Course Fees in India (2026): Free to IIM, Compared

We list courses from several of these institutes; none of them paid to appear here or saw this article before it was published. See sources.

Data analyst course fees in India run from ₹0 for Cisco's 30-hour Data Analytics Essentials and NPTEL's IIT Roorkee course to ₹2,47,800 for IIM Kozhikode's online programme. Most live, job-oriented data analyst courses of about six months cost ₹50,000 to ₹90,000. Courses carrying an IIT or IIM certificate cost ₹85,000 to ₹2.5 lakh. The Google Data Analytics Certificate costs ₹1,888 a month on Coursera, about ₹11,300 if you finish in six months.

We compared 21 data analyst courses and one certification exam, read every fee off the provider's own page, and worked out three things no fee page tells you: what you pay once GST and registration fees are added, what an hour of teaching costs, and whether the city you study in changes the price.

Data analyst course fees in India at a glance

All-in amounts include 18% GST where the provider quotes "+ GST" (our arithmetic). Each group is broken down course by course below, with every course name linking to its official page.

Key takeaway: ₹50,000 to ₹90,000 is the going rate for a six-month live data analyst course in India. Below that you are buying recorded content or a single certificate. Above it you are mostly paying for an IIT or IIM name, not for more teaching: an hour of teaching costs ₹99 at AnalytixLabs and ₹1,967 on IIT Delhi's executive certificate.

Data analyst course fees by course type

Free and self-paced data analyst courses (₹0 to ₹15,000)

Cisco's Data Analytics Essentials is the best free starting point for most people: 30 hours of Excel, SQL and Tableau with 29 labs, and more than 8.3 lakh learners already enrolled. NPTEL's IIT Roorkee course is free to follow, with a ₹1,000 proctored exam for the certificate; its last run finished in April 2026, so check NPTEL for the next one.

The Google certificate is cheap but billed monthly, so the total depends on how fast you finish. Coursera charges Indian learners ₹1,888 a month after a 7-day free trial; Google's own India page still says $20 a month, so trust the price on the checkout page. Financial aid is available. Finish in four months and you pay about ₹7,550; take eight and it is about ₹15,100. A Coursera Plus annual plan, offered at ₹6,999 on 27 October, covers both the Google and IBM certificates and is the cheaper route if you will take longer than four months.

Data analyst certification exam (₹4,865)

PL-300 is the one widely recognised data analyst certification you can buy on its own. It certifies Power BI skills, includes no teaching, and renews free each year through an online assessment. If you already know Power BI from a course, it is the cheapest credential you can add to a resume.

Live online data analyst bootcamps (₹30,000 to ₹90,000)

This is where most of the market sits, and the fee differences are mostly about format and the name on the certificate rather than the syllabus. AnalytixLabs sells the same course at six prices, from ₹53,100 for blended learning to ₹87,320 in a classroom with an IIT-linked certificate. Masai's IIT Roorkee programme and AnalytixLabs' TIH IIT Bombay or Patna version carry an IIT-linked certificate for well under ₹1 lakh. Two providers publish no total at all; for those, ask for the full amount in writing before a call turns into a deadline.

IIT, IIM and university data analytics programmes (₹85,044 to ₹2,47,800)

Searching for the "IIT Kanpur data analytics course"? It is the Simplilearn programme above, whose certificate is issued by E&ICT Academy, IIT Kanpur, at ₹1,34,999 including taxes, with weekend classes from December 2026. Some guides quote it as plus GST; Simplilearn's own page says the fee includes taxes. Read the partner name closely on all of these: an E&ICT Academy or IIT-linked hub certificate is not an IIT degree, and IIT Delhi's and IIM Kozhikode's programmes are built for managers rather than first-time analysts. Great Learning and Imarticus sell data science programmes that include analytics, which is why they cost more than an analytics-only course.

Data analyst course fees in Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai

Other guides put classroom fees anywhere from ₹40,000 to ₹2.5 lakh depending on the city. The institutes' own pages show something simpler: the same classroom course costs the same in every city where it runs.

A classroom data analyst course costs about ₹68,000 to ₹70,000 in every major Indian city, roughly ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 more than the same provider's online version. What does change by city is your living cost if you move for it: AccioJob's classroom batch runs full days, six days a week, so you cannot hold a job alongside it. Data analyst course duration and fees

Can you become a data analyst in three months? You can learn the core tools in that time: Cisco's 30-hour course plus Google's certificate at 10 hours a week covers Excel, SQL, a visualisation tool and a capstone in about three months. What three months rarely gives you is a portfolio and interview practice, which is most of what the six-month courses add. Duration on its own predicts very little about price: six months costs anywhere from about ₹11,300 (Google) to ₹1,18,000 (IIT Delhi).

What an hour of teaching costs

Months tell you how long a course runs, not how much teaching you get. These programmes publish their teaching hours, so we divided the fee by the hours.

Among live programmes, an hour of teaching costs 20 times more on IIT Delhi's executive certificate than on AnalytixLabs' online course. The hours are not identical, and an IIT Delhi certificate is a different credential, but most of that gap is the name on the certificate. Where a provider says "200+" or "300+", the true cost per hour is a little lower than shown. Masai, AccioJob, PW Skills, Intellipaat and Simplilearn do not publish their total live hours, so ask them for the number before comparing. We ran the same exercise for cyber security courses, where the spread was 16 times.

Hidden costs to budget for

• GST at 18% on fees quoted "+ GST": Masai (₹57,000 + GST), IIT Delhi CEP, IIM Kozhikode and Great Learning. Simplilearn, Imarticus, AccioJob and Codebasics state their fees include taxes; most others do not say either way.
• Non-refundable registration fees. PW Skills keeps ₹10,000 of a Premium or Pro fee if you ask for a refund. Masai charges a ₹99 application fee and ₹4,000 registration within its total; Imarticus asks ₹15,000 as the first payment; IIT Delhi charges ₹1,000 + GST to apply.
• The exam. A course that "prepares you for" Power BI certification does not usually pay for PL-300; budget ₹4,865.
• Strike-through prices. DataMites shows ₹1,10,000 cut to ₹64,191 with an offer "valid till 31st October 2026"; AccioJob shows ₹85,000 cut to ₹65,000; ExcelR ₹59,999 cut to ₹49,999; Internshala ₹2,999 cut to ₹999 for a day. A struck-out price is the seller's number, not a market one, and none of these is a reason to pay today.
• A subscription that keeps running. Coursera bills monthly until you cancel, so an unfinished Google certificate keeps costing ₹1,888 a month.
• Lost income. Full-day classroom batches rule out a job for six months, which costs more than any fee in this article.

Data analyst courses with placement: what the fee buys

None of the 21 courses here guarantees a job in writing on its course page. Several say so directly. PW Skills lists "Guaranteed Job / Internship: No" on every plan. DataMites' FAQ answers its own question about a job guarantee with "No, PAT does not promise a job". IIM Kozhikode's programme page says the institute and Emeritus "do NOT promise or guarantee a job". Internshala's data analyst placement course has been discontinued, and its current course offers placement assistance rather than a guarantee.

What you can buy is placement support: resume reviews, mock interviews, and access to a hiring partner list or placement drives. Ask three questions before paying for it: how many interviews you are guaranteed, what share of the last batch was placed and at what salary, and what happens to your fee if you are not placed. Data analyst course eligibility: can you join after 12th?

Yes, for most of the courses here. The free and self-paced courses (Cisco, NPTEL, freeCodeCamp, Google, IBM, Internshala, Codebasics and PW Skills) are pitched at beginners and ask for no degree. Coding Ninjas' bootcamp is open to final-year students and graduates as well as working professionals. The IIT Delhi and IIM Kozhikode programmes are aimed at working managers. For everything else, ask the provider in writing whether 12th pass is enough, because the employers hiring analysts usually want a degree even when the course does not. Data analyst course syllabus: what the fee should cover

Whatever you pay, a data analyst course should teach you these six things, and the free courses cover most of them:

• Excel or Google Sheets: cleaning, formulas, pivot tables.
• SQL: querying and joining tables, the skill most analyst job posts test first.
• A visualisation tool: Power BI or Tableau, ending in a dashboard you can show.
• Statistics: averages, distributions, sampling and basic hypothesis testing.
• Python: pandas for analysis, often taught after SQL.
• A portfolio: two or three projects on real data, which is what employers look at.

Most paid courses now add generative AI tools for analysis. That is useful, but it should sit on top of the six above, not replace them. What the paid courses add beyond the free ones is live teaching, feedback on your projects, and interview preparation.

Is a data analyst course worth the fee?

Start with what the job pays. PayScale's India data, updated 5 October 2026, puts an entry-level data analyst with under a year's experience at ₹4,13,462 a year in average total pay, rising to ₹5,69,651 with one to four years. A ₹65,000 course is therefore about two months of a first-year analyst's pay: a reasonable price if it gets you a job you would not have got otherwise, and an expensive one if it leaves you with a certificate and no interviews.

The arithmetic favours starting cheap. The free and self-paced courses teach the same core tools as a ₹65,000 bootcamp; what you pay more for is structure, live feedback and placement support. Buy those when you know you need them, not as a first step.

How to choose a price band

Before paying anyone, get three things in an email: the all-inclusive invoice amount, the refund window, and what "placement support" means in practice. Several pages load their fee after the page opens or hide it behind a tab, so we read them in a browser rather than from the raw page. Where a page shows a struck-out price, we quote the price you would actually pay and say so. Where a page contradicts itself, we say which figure we used. Offers change by batch and some expire within days; confirm the amount in writing before paying.
