By Deepak Sharma, BootcampGuide. Ranked on what each institute actually publishes, read off the 25 live data science, analytics and data engineering programmes listed on BootcampGuide across 12 institutes on 18 October 2026. See how we ranked them.
The short answer
If you want the one-line version: AccioJob, Masai School and AlmaBetter are the three we would shortlist first — not because they are the biggest names, but because each publishes a price and a start date for every data science programme it runs, and all three sit at or below ₹12,500 per month of teaching.
The expensive end of the market is not obviously better. Scaler's Data Science and Machine Learning Program costs ₹3,99,000, which works out at ₹33,250 per month — 3.5 times AccioJob's ₹9,375. Both promise a data job at the end. Neither publishes an audited placement rate, and nor does anyone else on this list.
What we found across all 12 institutes
- The median data science programme in India costs ₹75,000, ranging from ₹12,900 to ₹3,99,000.
- Only 11 of 25 programmes publish both a fee and a start date. Seven publish no fee at all.
- Per month of teaching the median is ₹12,500, with a 3.5x spread between the cheapest and dearest measurable programme.
- 21 of 25 offer EMI, and every one of the 25 claims some form of placement assistance — which tells you the phrase is doing no work in distinguishing them.
- 19 of 25 are online-only. If you want a classroom, your realistic choices are AnalytixLabs and AccioJob in Gurugram, or Imarticus Learning's hybrid format.
That last point about placement assistance is worth sitting with. When a feature appears on 100% of listings, it is marketing vocabulary rather than a differentiator. The useful question is not "do you offer placement support" but "how many of last year's cohort were placed, at what median salary, and will you show me the number". We cover how to ask that in our nine-step guide to choosing a bootcamp.
How we ranked them
There is no honest way to rank Indian data science institutes on outcomes, because none of them publish outcome data an outsider can check. Placement percentages appear on marketing pages with no cohort size, no definition of "placed", and no third-party audit. Ranking on those numbers would mean ranking on each institute's own marketing.
So we ranked on what can be verified by anyone, in this order:
- Disclosure. Does it publish a fee and a start date for every data science programme? A withheld price is a price that can be quoted differently to different buyers.
- Cost per month of teaching. Total fee divided by stated duration, so a five-month certificate and a fourteen-month programme can be compared.
- Choice and format. How many distinct data programmes, and can you attend in person.
- Verifiable co-brands. Whether an IIT, IIM, IBM or Microsoft name attached to the course belongs to an institution whose own site confirms the partnership.
Where a duration is given as a range, we used the shorter end to compute the monthly figure — the least flattering reading of the price. Self-paced courses are excluded from monthly figures, since there is no month to divide by.
The ranking
1. AccioJob — best value per month, and it publishes everything
Four data programmes, a published fee on all four, and the lowest cost per month of teaching we could measure at ₹9,375 for the eight-month Data Science and AI programme at ₹75,000. It is one of only two institutes on this list running classroom batches as well as online, from Gurugram.
The catch is selectivity: AccioJob screens on an entrance test, so the cheap price is partly a function of who gets in. It also runs pay-after-placement terms on some tracks, which change the arithmetic entirely — see what pay-after-placement actually costs before assuming it is cheaper.
| Programme | Fee | Length | Format | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Data Science and AI | ₹75,000 | 8 months | Online | ₹9,375 |
| Data Science and AI | ₹80,000 | 8 months | Offline | ₹10,000 |
| Data Analytics with GenAI | ₹65,000 | 6 months | Online | ₹10,833 |
| Data Analytics with GenAI | ₹70,000 | 6 months | Offline | ₹11,667 |
2. Masai School — cheapest credible six-month route, with an IIT name attached
Masai's Data Analytics with AI and Gen AI Certification is ₹57,000 over six months — ₹9,500 per month, second only to AccioJob. It publishes a fee and a start date for it, and runs pay-after-placement terms on several tracks.
Masai also attaches real institutional names to its AI and ML certifications: one with IIT Patna and one with the E&ICT Academy at IIT Roorkee. Both academies' own sites confirm they run industry certification programmes, which is more than can be said for every co-brand in this market. We compared Masai head-to-head with two of its closest competitors in Masai School vs AccioJob and Scaler Academy vs Masai School.
3. AlmaBetter — full disclosure, IIT Patna fellowship
Two data programmes, both with a published fee and a published start date — one of only five institutes here that manages that on every listing. The Full Stack Data Science and AI Program is ₹75,000 over six to eight months (₹12,500 per month); the IIT Patna fellowship is ₹1,00,000 over eight to ten months, at the same monthly rate.
That is the useful thing about normalising per month: the fellowship looks 33% dearer on the sticker and is identical once you account for its length. AlmaBetter appears in our four-way comparison, upGrad vs Great Learning vs AlmaBetter vs AccioJob.
4. Codebasics — the cheapest honest way in
At ₹12,900 the Data Analytics Bootcamp is the least expensive data programme on the entire site, and Codebasics publishes a fee and a start date on all three of its data listings. Two are self-paced; the Data Engineering Bootcamp for Analysts is live, ₹48,000 over ten weekends.
Self-paced at ₹12,900 is a genuinely different product from a ₹3.99 lakh live programme, and we would not pretend otherwise. But if you are testing whether you like this work before committing a year's salary, it is the rational first step. Hyderabad-based, 84,000 learners trained by its own count.
5. AnalytixLabs — the classroom specialist
Both data programmes carry a published fee of ₹68,440 (₹11,407 per month over six to eight months), and both are taught offline from Gurugram. If you learn better in a room with other people, this and AccioJob are effectively your two options for data science in India.
The weakness is scheduling: neither of its data listings publishes a next batch date, so you are asking rather than booking.
6. Intellipaat — strong co-brands, no published prices
Intellipaat publishes a start date on all three of its data programmes and a fee on none of them. Two carry the IITM Pravartak name — a Technology Innovation Hub hosted at IIT Madras, which is a real institution and easy to verify.
We rank it sixth rather than higher purely on the missing prices. The programmes look substantial and the partnerships check out; you simply cannot compare it on cost without entering a sales conversation first.
7. upGrad — one data programme, priced in the open
The Professional Certificate Programme in Data Science and Agentic AI is ₹99,000 over 26 weeks, or ₹16,487 per month — roughly 75% more per month than AccioJob for a programme of similar ambition. No start date published.
upGrad is the largest brand on this list by marketing spend, which is worth separating from teaching quality. Our four-way comparison found its cost per month of teaching among the highest of the providers we examined.
8. Simplilearn — breadth, at a price
Two data programmes, both with published start dates, one with a published fee: the AI-Powered Data Analytics certificate at ₹1,34,999 over seven months (₹19,286 per month). Its Data Science Course with Microsoft publishes no fee.
Simplilearn's catalogue is the widest here — it is the institute to look at if you want something adjacent to data rather than data itself. On price per month of teaching it is near the top of the market.
9. Scaler — fully transparent, and the most expensive
₹3,99,000 for the twelve-month Data Science and Machine Learning Program: ₹33,250 per month, the dearest measurable data programme in India on our listings. Scaler publishes a fee and a start date for every programme it runs, which is why it ranks ninth and not twelfth — you know exactly what you are being asked for.
Whether that is worth 3.5x AccioJob is a question only you can answer, and we have gone through the fee structure, the EMI and the refund window in detail in the full Scaler Academy fees breakdown. There is also our review of Scaler's Forward Deployed Engineer programme, which is priced identically.
10. Newton School — the long-form option
₹2,45,000 for a fourteen-month Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Program, or ₹17,500 per month, with a published fee and start date. Fourteen months is the longest data programme on our listings and is aimed at career changers starting from close to zero.
Bengaluru-based, 15,000 learners trained by its own count. The monthly rate is mid-market; the total is high simply because it runs for so long.
The two that did not make the ten
Both are real institutes running real programmes. Neither gives you enough to compare.
- Imarticus Learning — three data programmes, two with published fees (₹1,89,900 and ₹1,99,000), none with a published start date. The Postgraduate Program in Data Science and Analytics works out at ₹31,650 per month, second only to Scaler, while disclosing less.
- Coding Ninjas — two data programmes, no published fee on either, no published start date on either. A strong brand in programming education, but on data science it currently publishes nothing you can act on.
Does any of this count as a degree?
No, and this is the single most common misunderstanding we see. None of the twelve institutes here award a degree. A "PG Program", "Postgraduate Certificate" or "Fellowship" from a private training company is not a postgraduate qualification recognised by the University Grants Commission, and these institutes are not approved by the All India Council for Technical Education in the way an engineering college is.
That is not a criticism. A bootcamp is a different product from a degree and is bought for different reasons — speed, cost and a specific job outcome. But if your plan depends on the credential itself being recognised, by an employer abroad or for further study, check that before you pay. We cover the distinction in what a bootcamp actually is.
A co-brand with an IIT is likewise not an IIT degree. It usually means an E&ICT Academy or a Technology Innovation Hub — genuine bodies hosted at those institutes, running industry certification rather than admitting you to the IIT.
Choosing between them
A sensible order of operations:
- Decide analytics or engineering. Data analytics roles sit closer to the business and need SQL, dashboards and statistics. Data engineering is a software job. Several programmes above blur the two deliberately; the Stack Overflow Developer Survey is a reasonable neutral check on which tools are actually in use.
- Set a monthly budget, not a total. ₹12,500 per month is the market median. Anything above ₹20,000 should come with a specific reason.
- Insist on a fee and a start date in writing before any call. Fourteen of the twenty-five programmes here will not give you both on the page.
- Ask for the placement number with a denominator. "92% placed" means nothing without the cohort size and the definition.
- Compare the full market rather than the three brands whose ads found you. Every programme above, with filters for fee, format, city and level, is in the full course listing, and the institutes themselves are profiled in the institute directory.
If you are weighing AI and machine learning specifically rather than data science, we have ranked that market separately in the top AI courses in India — 43 programmes, same method.
Methodology
Figures were read from the 87 live course listings on BootcampGuide on 18 October 2026. Each listing is compiled from the institute's own public course page. We selected the 25 programmes whose titles identify them as data science, data analytics or data engineering, excluding courses whose primary subject is digital marketing, product management, cybersecurity or business strategy even where an analytics module is included.
Where the same programme is listed in more than one format or city, each format is counted once. Cost per month is the published fee divided by the stated duration, taking the shorter end of any range; self-paced courses are excluded from that calculation. Fees are as published by the institute and exclude GST unless the institute states otherwise. Placement, EMI and batch-date fields reflect what the institute publishes, not what we have independently verified.
Nothing on this page is paid placement. Institutes do not pay to be listed or ranked. Where our listings and an institute's own page disagree, the institute's page is correct and we would be glad to be told — see about BootcampGuide.
